The Australasian Creative Design Awards

Proudly Sponsored by Sandi Smith ~
Teddy Bears and Critters Australasia

In 2009, The Australasian Creative Design Awards were open to Australian and New Zealand artists only. In 2010 we are inviting soft sculpture artists from every country to participate.

This is more than just a competition, it's a challenge. Artists are being asked to design and make something they have not made before, in very specific materials.

We have found through past experience, that when limitations are placed on us, it often requires us to lift our game, think outside the box and move out of our comfort zone.

Artists are also being encouraged to improve their photographic skills...by using a camera, rather than a computer to 'paint a picture' of each entry.

The 2009 entries were incredible, the standard of workmanship excellent...let's see what can be achieved in 2010.

Once again, there are strict guidelines to follow and all decisions made by our panel of judges will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

Registration Closed: 31st December 2009

There will be two sections:

International - photographic judging only.

Australia-New Zealand - hands on judging with critique sheets.

Entry Fee:

Non-Members - AU$60

TBACA Full & Affiliate Members (membership must be current at the time of judging) - AU$45

Entries Close: 31st December 2009 ... Entry fees are non refundable.

This allows everyone three months from close of registration, to complete entries and submit photos.

Deadline Passed

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Each artist may submit one entry only and it must follow the Fantasy theme.

An artist cannot submit an entry that has been submitted into competition elsewhere.

Remember this is to be an exclusive one of a kind bear or critter...not one you are going to duplicate or make available elsewhere.

It must be made entirely by the artist and must be made from their own original pattern, NOT a modified pattern.

The artist must use mohair, alpaca, recycled real fur or silk fur...natural fibres only, NOT synthetics.

It can be any colour and all modern techniques will be acceptable.

If it is dressed...the garments must be removable and made by the artist, excepting shoes & socks/stockings.

You must be prepared to sell your entry.

Late entries will not be accepted.

PHOTO & DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS

We require one full frontal photo 4 x 5 inches or 4 x 6 inches at 300 dpi, which has been photographed against a smooth plain emerald green backdrop/background NOT PHOTO SHOPPED (photos submitted in the wrong format will be automatically disqualified)

Each photo should be accompanied with details and price shown in your own currency NOT INCLUDING POSTAGE. We will add "plus postage and insurance, according to destination" rather than put all the different postage rates in.

KISS - Keep it simple sweetheart ... click here for description layout!
